killing: also go for it, like injuries, death isn't actually permanent for him either. ghosts can basically reconstitute themselves given enough time as long as their bones/ashes are not destroyed
using telepathy: maybe? i think this would be possible, but as he's a supernatural being that's centuries old, peeking into his mind might be damaging.
FOR YOUR CHARACTER
If your character is perceptive or has any heightened senses, it would be easy to glean that Hua Cheng is not only cold to the touch, but he has no heartbeat.
